HOW IT HAPPENED

• Roanoke staked itself an early lead and led by as many as five at 10-5; after an 8-1 run. However, MC used two small runs to catch up and take the lead before taking the first set 25-21.
• The Angels took the first seven points of the second set, before Roanoke nearly caught up at 13-16. An 8-0 by the hosts gave them set point and would take the 2-0 match lead with a 25-14 set two win.
• The Maroons maintained a lead midway through the third set before Meredith took a 16-14 advantage. The two teams went back and forth with single points and two-point run the rest of the way with the Angels holding on for the 25-23 set three win and the match 3-0.

BY THE NUMBERS

• Ryanna Clark led the Maroons with five kills.
• Kylee Draper had the team-high 10 assists.
• Brynlee Burrill had seven digs to lead Roanoke.
