The Short Story:  The Roanoke women's soccer team picked up its second draw in as many contest as the Maroons finished with a 0-0 tie with Piedmont.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Maroons were able to fire five shots on goal in the first half, but Piedmont stopped each one while Taylor Gallik stopped the lone Lions shot on goal to keep the score tied at 0-0 headed into halftime.
• Roanoke continued its offensive barrage in the second half with 18 shots including six on goal. But neither team was able to find the back of the net in the final 45 minutes as they played to a scoreless draw

BY THE NUMBERS

• The Maroons outshot the Lions 30-6 with an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal.
• Roanoke also took more corner kicks than Piedmont, 6-0
• Hannah Aemisegger played the second half in goal and made one save.

UP NEXT

• Roanoke returns home on Wednesday, Sept. 13 when they host Lynchburg in a non-ODAC contest at 5 p.m. as start of a six-game home stand.
