The Short Story:  After a scoreless first half, PSU Harrisburg scored an early goal in the second half to escape with a 1-0 win over the Roanoke women's soccer team in the second game of the 2023 Roanoke Invitational. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The first half saw the Maroons control the pitch out shooting the Lions 5-3 while both teams had two shots on goal, all saves by the respective goalies.
• The second half opened with the PSUH scoring a goal just 1:45 into the period before they held on for the 1-0 win over Roanoke.

BY THE NUMBERS

• Morgan O'Neill had three shots, two on goal, and Rebecca Carr had two to lead the Maroons. 
• Taylor Gallik played all 60 minutes in goal making five saves against the Eagles' three.

• Roanoke is back on the pitch tomorrow, Saturday, September 2 to wrap up action at the Roanoke Invitational when they take on Grove City College, who dropped a 1-0 decision to Lynchburg in the opening game of the day. Game time with with the Wolverines is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
