Roanoke Plays Host to Bast-Cregger Invite

The Lead: The Maroons posted a pair of event wins at their own Bast-Cregger Invitational in Salem.

Meet Highlights:

Roanoke claimed the top two spots in the high jump. Kaitlyn Nguyen and Kim Roden both posted marks of 1.63m, with Nguyen securing first place via tiebreaker.
Grace Fowler won the shot put with a distance of 12.32m. Nalonda Henderson placed sixth at 11.08m, and Abigail McGlothin landed in seventh at 11.04m.
Fowler also finished as the runner-up in the weight throw, launching a toss of 15.32m. Sarah Fuchs came in eighth at 12.54m.
In the pole vault, Anna Stafford and Tasha Miller finished in second and third place. Stafford edged Miller on the tiebreaker after both logged jumps of 2.90m.
Haylee Gamble placed third in the 400m with a time of 1:01.66. Maryrose Molina-Shuman came in fifth at 1:04.11, and Ophelia Ladner finished seventh in 1:05.11.
Olivia Viers notched a fourth-place performance in the 60m hurdles, clocking a time of 9.55 seconds. Lindsey Hobin was right behind in fifth place, finishing in 9.57.
Roden placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.35m, and Viers came in eighth at 9.99m.
Molly McCroskey's time of 21:27.60 put her in fifth place in the 5,000m. Evie MaGee logged a sixth-place finish in 21:39.89.
The 4x400 relay team of Gamble, Molina-Shuman, Ladner and Taylor Poole came in seventh with a time of 4:24.81.

Up Next: Roanoke will host the Finn Pincus Invitational at Cregger Field House on Jan. 19-20.
