The Short Story: The Roanoke women's basketball team turned a 14-point deficit late in the third quarter into a 21-point victory, closing out the Susan Dunagan Holiday Classic with an 85-64 win over Lancaster Bible.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Maroons sprinted out of the gates, jumping ahead 14-6 on a Madison Nereu fastbreak layup midway through the opening period.

  • But it was all Maroons from there. Roanoke outscored the Chargers 43-8 across the final 13:30 of game time, including a 30-5 blitz in the fourth quarter. Parker Childress notched 14 of her 15 points in the second half, while Nereu totaled 10 points and Rose Sande added nine markers after the break.
