SALEM, Va. -- The Roanoke women's volleyball team wrapped up their regular season on Saturday with a split of non-conference matches in North Carolina. The Maroons fell to the tri-match hosts of Salem (NC), 3-0 before bouncing back against Mary Baldwin with a 3-0 sweep of the Fighting Squirrels.
Rylee Mayer led the Maroons against the Spirits with eight kills while
Kylee Draper had the team-high 14 assists and
Jordan Gorman had the match-high 15 digs. Against MBU, Roanoke saw
Sara Waller have the match-high 12 kills while Draper had 17 assists and Gorman had 10 digs, both to lead the Maroons.
Following the conclusion of the rest of the ODAC matches, the conference announced the bracket of the upcoming 2023 ODAC Tournament. Virginia Wesleyan, who Roanoke knocked off at the No. 8 seed a year ago, once again earned the top spot with a 12-0 ODAC record. With their win in the regular season over the Eagles, Randolph-Macon earned the No.2 seed while Bridgewater is seeded No. 3. Washington and Lee rounds out the hosting duty institutions with the No. 4 seed.
As the No. 5 seed, the Maroons will be on the road as will No. 6 Averett, No. 7 Lynchburg, and No. 8 Guilford. All quarterfinal matchups will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Game time of the Roanoke matchup with WLU in Lexington has yet to be determined.
