The Short Story:Â The Roanoke women's swim team improved to 2-0 in ODAC duals this season as the Maroons thoroughly controlled that matchup with Bridgewater on Saturday afternoon at the Salem YMCA, winning every event against the Eagles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first event of the day, the 200 medley relay, Lily Mullens, Kate Pearson, Bella Jones, and Halle Schart finished over four seconds ahead of the runner-up team from BC wit a time of 1:53.54.
- Julia Byers and Carter Satterfield were a 1-2 combination in the 1000 free with times of 11:17.66 and 11:26.41, respectively.
- Susanna Price took home top honors in the 200 free with a time of 2:00.04
- In the fourth women's event, Julianna Morrow touched the wall first in 1:01.27 while Schart was runner-up with a time of 1:02.65
- Pearson won the 100 breaststroke for Roanoke with a time of 1:11.69.
- The Maroons took the top three spots in the 200 fly with Katie Blankinship winning in a time of 2:22.13 and Nora Hein finishing second with a time of 2:26.86
- Mullens and Jones wre the lone RC competitors in the 50 free, and they finished one-two with times of 24.47 and 25.57, respectively.
- Mullens followed up with fourth event win of the day in the 100 free with a time of 54.62.
- Morrow and Schart were the top honorees in the 200 back with times of 2:13.62 and 2:17.66
- Pearson won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:35.24 with Juliette Gunter touching the wall second in a time of 2:37.54.
- Price won the 500 free beating out second place Blankinship by nearly 16 seconds with a time of 5:21.85 while Blankinship finished in 2:37.14
- Jones won her second event of the day in the 100 yard fly with a time of 1:00.90.
- The 200 IM saw Bailey Gallagher win a time of 2:17.92.Â
- The final event of the day was the 400 free relay where Mullens, Jones, Schart, and Price wont wit a time of 3:43.70.
