SALEM, Va. - The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) released their 2026 Academic All-State Team on Tuesday morning, which featured six Maroons. 

The complete team includes 215 student-athletes across 36 schools. To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must have at least sophomore standing and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. 

Graduate student Mac Cafurello (Wrestling), seniors Ophelia Ladner (Women's Track & Field), Nicholas Cuchna (Men's Swimming), Carter Satterfield (Women's Swimming), and Halle Schart (Women's Swimming), as well as Maddie McDonald (Women's Lacrosse) represented RC on the team. 

All six Maroons earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District accolades. Cuchna and Satterfield were co-valedictorians of their graduating class while Ladner, Cafurello, and McDonald were ODAC Scholar-Athletes of the Year. McDonald was also a CSC Academic All-American this season. Ladner is now a two-time VaSID Academic All-State honoree after picking up the accolade last season.
