THE GAME FACTS

Location: Salem, Va.
The Short Story: The Roanoke women's volleyball team had a spooky night as the Maroons dropped a 3-0 ODAC contest on Tuesday evening at the Cregger Center to the visiting Generals of Washington and Lee.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a close first set with the two teams taking turns with the lead before tying the score up at 10-10. A 5-0 run by WLU was answered with an 8-1 run by the Maroons. The set would find itself tied again at 22-22, 23-23, 24-24, and 25-25. The Generals would find a way to claim the next two points and take a 1-0 match lead with a 27-25, extra-points set one win.
- Despite the score being tied at 7-7, it looked like WLU would run away with the set after going on an 8-0 run to give themselves a 15-7 lead. The Maroons would keep even before starting a 7-0 run to pull within just two points at 23-21 before the guests would close out the set 25-22.
- Roanoke would trail by five midway through the third set at 15-10, but then go on an 8-5 stretch to pull within two. The teams would trade off the final seven points with the Generals escaping with a 25-21 win and the match, 3-0.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The two teams both had 59 points on the night.
- Despite the Maroons leading in kills (51-46), assists (50-45), and digs (51-47), it was WLU leading in aces (7-3) and committing fewer errors (13-22) that led to the Maroons falling in straight-sets.

- Kylee Draper had 24 assists while Aubrey Brown added 22 to lead the Maroons.
