Women's Soccer Falls in Regular Season Finale; Earn Sixth Seed in ODAC Tournament

THE GAME FACTS
Score: Bridgewater 3, Roanoke 2
Location: Bridgewater, Va.

The Short Story:  A late goal was not enough as the Roanoke women's soccer team dropped their regular-season finale on the road to Bridgewater. With the conclusion of the regular season schedule, the Maroons have earned the #6 seed in the upcoming 2023 ODAC Tournament next week.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Eagles didn't take long to get on the board with an assisted goal at 4:32. 
  • Morgan O'Neill got the Maroons on the board at 21:48 with an unassisted goal, tying the score at 1-1. Neither team was able to score the rest of the first half.
  • BC went on to score a pair of goals within the first five minutes coming out of halftime to take a 3-1 lead.
  • MC Petrucelli brought the Maroons back within one at 70:40 with a goal off an assist from Cameron Shackford, but the Eagles were able to hold on for the 3-2 win.
BY THE NUMBERS
  • The two goals by the Maroons was the most against Bridgewater since 2015.
  • Hannah Aemisegger and Taylor Gallik each played a half in goal for Roanoke, making two and three saves, respectively.

  • Roanoke will next travel to #3 seed Washington and Lee in the quarterfinals of the 2023 ODAC Tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Game time with the Generals is TBD
