The Short Story: The Roanoke women's soccer team fell on the road in the 2023 ODAC Tournament quarterfinals to No. 3 seed Washington and Lee on Tuesday evening in Lexington. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Generals got on the board early, just 1:32 in to the game with a goal that would prove to be the game winner.
• Midway through the first half, WLU would add a second goal in the 23rd minute to take a 2-0 lead into the locker room at the break.
• Not to long into the second period a misplay by the Maroons saw the ball go into their own goal, which gave the Generals the 3-0 advantage.
• The final WLU would come in the 66th minute to provide for the final 4-0 setback of the Maroons

BY THE NUMBERS

• Hannah Aemisegger and Taylor Gallik each played 45 minutes in goal and each made four saves.
• Rebecca Carr had three shots on the evening, including a pair on goal, but both were saved by the Generals goalkeeper.
• WLU outshot the Maroons 29-8 over the 90 minute contest.
