The Short Story:  The Roanoke field hockey team saw their ODAC streak end with a 4-3 overtime loss to Bridgewater on Wednesday evening at Kerr Stadium. The Eagles scored two second half goals and the golden goal in overtime to escape with the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Maroons got on the board early in the first when Grace Vernarelli converted a penalty stroke into a penalty goal at 3:22.
• Bridgewater answered just before the 6:00 mark with a goal to level the match at 1-1.
• Saige Bullock gave Roanoke the lead back at 8:46 off a pass from Vernarelli.
• Krista DeModna scored her first career goal off a misplay in front of the Eagles goal to give the Maroons the 3-1 lead at 17:20 of the game.
• The Eagles would level the game with a pair of goal in the second half to tie the score at 3-3, sending the game into a golden goal overtime period.
• In the 7 on 7 overtime format, Bridgewater was able to find a breakaway goal at the 2:25 mark of overtime to get the win 4-3
