SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- Roanoke swept Sweet Briar in an ODAC match this evening in volleyball action. With the win, the Maroons improved to 13-14 overall, 4-5 in the ODAC. The Vixens dropped to 2-18, 0-8 in the conference.
The women won with scores of 25-20, 25-12 and 25-18.
Lynsey Ferris (Roanoke, VA, Northside)had a season-best 12 kills along with four blocks.
Rachel Hawkins (Winchester, VA, Millbrook)also had a season-best 11 kills while
Maggie Wagner (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring)finished with nine kills and 12 digs.
Caitlyn Long (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring)had 34 assists and nine digs while
Emily Martin (Daleville, VA, Lord Botetourt)added 11 digs in the win.
The women will take on Washington & Lee, Oct. 28 in their final ODAC match of the regular season. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. in Lexington, Va. They will host Averett the following evening, Oct. 29 to celebrate senior night. It will be the final home game for seniors Ferris, Long and
Lindsay Wright (Vail, CO, Vail ). Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
