Box Score Salem, VA -- Robby Pridgen and Kevinn Hunter combined for 53 points to lead Roanoke to a 91-69 win over Guilford in the opening round of the 2003 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championships.
Pridgen connected on 9-of-16 shots from the field and nailed 6-of-9 three pointers for a game-high 29 points. The senior guard also added four assists and four steals, while his six three pointers also tied for the third-best single game total in an ODAC Tournament game.
Hunter, a sophomore forward, scored 19 points in the second half on his way to career-high 24. He also grabbed a game-best and career-high 11 rebounds.
Clarence Martin led three Guilford players in double-figures with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Robert Spence and Jevon Clarke added 12 apiece for the Quakers.
Trailing by a point late in the first half, Roanoke outscored Guilford 12-2 over the final 4:51 to take a 37-28 halftime lead.
Roanoke maintained a lead of at least seven for the entire second half, and led by as many as 21 in claiming its third win over Guilford in as many tries in the ODAC Tournament. The Maroons outscored Guilford 54-41 in the second stanza thanks to a 59% (20-of-34) mark from the field and a 23-12 advantage on the boards.
Roanoke(15-11) advances to a second-consecutive ODAC Semifinal game against Randolph-Macon, while Guilford concludes its season with a 12-14 record.
