Career Highlights: Hunter was the 29th player in Roanoke College men's basketball history to eclipse 1,000 career points. He scored his 1,000th career point in the team's 2004-05 regular season finale at Emory & Henry College. He finished his college playing career with 1,022 career points, the 27th highest total in team history. As a senior, Hunter earned First Team All-ODAC honors, that after averaging career highs in both points (15.0) and rebounds (6.0) per game. For his career, Hunter made 60.5 percent of his shots from the floor, the best mark in the program's long and illustrious history, better than some of the best players in the team's history. In the process of scoring his 1,000th career point, Hunter scored a career-best 28 points in the game at Emory & Henry last season. Earlier in the year, Hunter proved his worth among the nation's centers, recording a career-high 19 rebounds against Randolph-Macon's All-American pivot. In a game with BC as a senior, Hunter set an ODAC record by making all 14 of his free throw attempts. In his four years with the Maroons, Hunter was twice an All-ODAC selection, also earning Second Team All-League honors following his junior season. Hunter is currently a personal fitness trainer in Staunton, VA.
2003-04: Hunter was a Second Team All-ODAC selection following his junior season … he finished second on the club in scoring, averaging 13.3 points a game … his 5.7 rebounds a game were also second best on the club … Hunter finished the season shooting 60.4 percent from the field and finished behind only two other athletes in the ODAC in field goal percentage … the Dale City, VA native finished10th in the league in scoring and 18th in the rebounding column … he had a season-high 24 points in a home game against E&H and a season-best 11 rebounds in a win over Rose-Hulman … Hunter scored at least 10 points in 12 of the team's final 13 games of the season.
2002-03: Hunter emerged as a top center in the league during his sophomore season, averaging 7.6 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 58.3 percent from the field … he scored in double-figures six times during the year, burning the Quakers of Guilford College for a career-high 24 points in the ODAC quarterfinals … he had a double-double in that win over Guilford, one of three one the season … twice (vs. Greensboro and W&L) he blocked three shots in a game … his 18 total blocks were the second most on the team as were his 125 rebounds.
2001-02: Averaged 5.3 points a game as a freshman in the Roanoke program … led all Maroon players with a .667 field goal shooting percentage … was perfect from the field in five games … scored a season-high 12 points in a home win over Eastern Mennonite … had a season-best eight rebound performance against Bridgewater on the road … hit all five of his field goal attempts against then #1 Randolph-Macon… was hampered by an injury midway through the season that resulted in him missing the final six games of the year … went to the foul line 16 times, making 11 of the attempts.
Personal: Led Gar-Field High School to two District titles in Northern Virginia … helped GHS to a State Runner-up finish as a senior … in his four years in high school, helped Gar-Field to an overall record of 42-6 … played for Andy Gray at Gar-Field … is a Exercise Science major at RC and works in the office of Multicultural Affairs as a peer mentor.
