Holding on to a 10-point lead with 5:36 remaining in the ball game, the Scots allowed Roanoke to go on a 10-2 run over the next four minutes, a run that, capped by a Nathan Stewart three-pointer with 1:21 to go, made the score 74-72. The Maroons missed their two field goal attempts in the final minute of the game and when Tummel threw down his second dunk of the game, that with 12 seconds left to play, the Scots iced the win. Maryville led by as many as 13 points in the second half of play. The Scots had to play a majority of the second half minus the services of Tummel, who was on the bench with foul trouble.

Leading by four with 41:8 to go in the first half, the Scots quickly pushed the lead to 12 (with 2:25 to go), but the Maroons, sparked by three points from Joe Milton cut the lead to four at the break, 45-41. Maryville scored the first six points of the second half, forcing the Maroons to make their comeback attempt.

Pridgen finished the game with 34 points for the Maroons, 20 coming in the first half, when he was 7-for-10 from the field, including 4-for-6 from three point range. Pridgen also made all seven of his free throw tries and dished out five assists. Josh Foster finished the game with 17 points for the Maroons, who blocked seven MC shots in the contest.

Mount Union 72, Transylvania 69The Mount Union Purple Raiders won the consolation game of the tournament with a 72-69 win over Transylvania. Transylvania took control of the scoreboard with 3:42 to go in the first half on a three-pointer by Nick Nash, one of 11 threes by the Pioneers in the game. TU extended its lead out to as many as eight points in the second half, but the Purple Raiders slowly chipped their way back into the ball game and on a free throw from Curtis Stevens with 8:12 to go took their first lead of the second half. Trailing by two with just 24 seconds to play, the Pioneers had a chance to take the lead when Nathan Valentine was awarded three free throws.
