Maxson joined Roanoke College in the fall of 2026 after serving as an assistant coach at Lycoming College. With the Warriors, she delivered defensive instruction that improved the team in categories such as opponent field goal percentage, points per game, rebounds per game, and steals per game.
Prior to her coaching career, Maxson was a four-year member of the women's basketball team at Shenandoah, including being a part of the winningest class in program history. During her career at Shenandoah, the team went 66-31, won three consecutive ODAC championships, and received two NCAA championship bids.
She earned her master's degree in sports & entertainment management from the University of South Carolina and her bachelor's degree in business administration from Shenandoah University.
