Biography

2006 Outlook: Walter is one of the most physically dominating presences in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and uses that force to dictate play in the midfield. With the loss of several key players in the midfield and on defense, Walter will be counted upon to continue to develop as an effective stopper.


2005: started in three of 10 matches… started in the season-opening weekend in the Roanoke Invitational but battled through the rest of the season while recovering from injuries… had an assist against national-power Messiah… scored only goal of the season against Lynchburg.


2004: A key on Maroon restarts, Walter scored a career-best four goals as a sophomore…started in 17 of 18 matches… had 13 shots, including seven shots on goal… scored goal in season-opening victory over Ferrum… had goals in back-to-back games against south region rival Christopher Newport and at Bridgewater… scored game-winning goal at Eastern Mennonite.


2003: started in 15 of 16 matches as a freshman… totaled 17 shots and five shots on goal… scored two goals and dished out an assist for five points… had an assist in 3-0 win over Franklin & Marshall… scored a goal in 2-1 ODAC-win over Washington & Lee and another against Randolph-Macon in the regular season finale.


Personal: Walter comes from an superb soccer background, coming from a strong high school and club team (Baltimore Bays) … his size and strength will come in handy at the defensive end of the field, where he could see a lot of starting time … he reads the game well and is tough athlete.
