Biography

Career Highlights: Wermuth scored an average of 2.1 points per game in 65 appearances with the Maroons of Roanoke College. As a senior, Wermuth scored a career-best 55 points, with eight of those coming in a game at home against Hampden-Sydney College. He also averaged 2.9 rebounds a game, grabbing a career-best seven in a game twice (once against Hampden-Sydney, once against Goucher). Eighteen of his 20 career blocked shots came during his final season playing with Page Moir's team. His twin brother Craig was a conference opponent at rival Lynchburg College.


 


2002-03: Wermuth played in 20 games as a junior and made one start, breaking the top-five in the team's game at Division I Harvard University … he scored a career-high four points in the team's season-opening win over Greensboro College … scored three points and added three rebounds in an ODAC game at Guilford College … tied his season-high of three rebounds in games versus Emory & Henry and Lynchburg Colleges.


 


2001-02: Played in 18 games for the Maroons as a sophomore … scored a season-high four points in Roanoke's road win over Emory & Henry College … had a season-best nine minutes played at home against Lynchburg College … grabbed three rebounds in the LC home win, a season-high … blocked shots against W&L and Bridgewater … was 2-for-2 from the field against Emory & Henry and was perfect from the line at Guilford and against W&L.


 


2000-01: Saw his lone action of the season at home against Lynchburg College … grabbed one rebound in one minute of action … got most of his experience with the Roanoke junior varsity program.


 


Personal: Led Manchester High School in rebounding as a senior … named the Manchester High Most Valuable Player … also starred for the MHS football team … has a twin brother that is playing at Lynchburg College.
