Biography

2009: ESPN Academic All-District Second-Team selection… had six starts in 11 appearances on the mound… went 3-2 with a 7.54 ERA… had a combined shutout in win over UM-Presque Isle (2/17)… finished with 21 strikeouts in 37 innings… had best game of the season vs. Frostburg St. with a season-best five strikeouts in six innings of work, allowing only one run in a 4-2 win (2/20)… struck out three batters in five innings to earn the win against Eastern Mennonite (3/7)… had three strikeouts with only one walk in five innings to get win over Virginia Intermont (2/10).


2008: Had a much improved season in sophomore campaign… won a team-best four games and had the best record at 4-1… had a 5.68 ERA, struck out 25 batters and walked only seven batters in 44.1 innings… Struck out a career-high seven batters in 8.1 innings in ODAC win over Emory & Henry (3/20)… had complete game performance in win over CCNY (2/24)… pitched second complete game against Bridgewater, striking out four (4/5)... nominated for ODAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and CoSIDA's Academic All-America.



 


2007: Made eight appearances while starting three with a 9.39 era …made his first collegiate appearance against Wesley College on 2/24...picked up his first collegiate victory against Southern Virginia on 4/17.


 


High School: member of the Alpha Lambda Delta honor Society, Alpha Chi Honor Society… earned Dean's List honors… member of Delta Mu delta… earned Second-Team All-Dekalb County… member of the Georgia Senior All-Atar Classic team …Region 5-AAA Champions and a State Semi-Final Appearance.


 


Personal: Son of Ray and Janet Caputo…comes to Roanoke from Dunwoody High School in Dunwoody, GA…majoring in Business with a concentration in Finance.
