2013: Started all 39 games played in his junior season had a season batting average of .273 had 39 hits in his 39 games with 30 runs scored, 2 home runs, 16 RBIs and an 11-game hitting streakhe led the team in stolen bases with 17 in an 18 to 9 win vs. Shenandoah (3/3), went 5-6 with four runs, and three RBIs along with two doubles and a home run.

2012: Started 31 games during his sophomore year for the Maroons batted .299 and 15 RBI scored 24 runs while being walked 12 times and stole four bases finished the year with 13 multi-hit games including nine doubles and a triple season high three hits with two RBI vs. Guilford (4/11) had two doubles and an RBI vs. Maine-Presque Isle (2/18) hit his one triple of the year vs. Hampden-Sydney (4/7)

2011 (at Tusculum): following a red-shirt year in 2010, Mattox started in six of 16 games played in the infield for the Pioneers... batted .296 with eight hits, including a double and one RBI... scored six runs and drew three walks.

High School: coached by Steve Sizemore at William Byrd High School, where he lettered in baseball, basketball and golf... was named all-district and all-district tournament in basketball as a senior, leading the Terriers to the district championship in 2009... also was an all-district selection in golf as a senior... led WBHS to the district tournament championship in baseball as a senior... member of the national honor society.

Personal: son of Troy and Beth Mattox... majoring in Sport Management
