KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Getting ready for game day? Here is the A-Z of what to know about Maroon football home games.


 
Admission
Home game admission is $10 (not including taxes and fees) if purchased in advance. Tickets can be purchased at the gate on game day for a flat rate of $15 (cash or credit). All Roanoke College students (with a valid student ID) and kids five and under can enter the game for free. No reentry will be allowed if a fan leaves the stadium during a game.

Roanoke College students should show their IDs at the student entrance of Salem Stadium on game day in order to enter the game. Information on game-day shuttle service is below. 

Bag Policy
Salem Stadium has a clear bag policy that applies to games. Bags allowed inside the stadium include clear plastic bags that are no larger than 12" tall x 6" deep x 12" wide or small clutch bags that are no larger than 5.5" tall x 8.5" wide.
 
Prohibited bags include diaper bags, fanny packs, backpacks, camera bags and coolers. Read the full policy here.

 Concessions
Concessions and non-alcoholic drinks will be sold within the stadium. Both cash and credit card are accepted. Our thanks to the Salem Lions Club for its partnership with us and Salem Stadium.
 
Directions

  • Salem Stadium is located at 1008 Texas Street, Salem, VA 24153.
  • From the North - Take I-81 South to Exit 141. Follow the signs to Salem. From the exit ramp, take Route 419 South. Continue to follow signs toward Salem Civic Center.
  • From the South - Take I-81 North to Exit 141. Follow the signs to Salem. From the exit ramp, take Route 419 South. Continue to follow signs toward Salem Civic Center.
  • From U.S. 220 - Take the Franklin Road exit to Route 419. Follow Route 419 past Brambleton Avenue and Apperson Drive (about 8 miles). Take a left at Roanoke Boulevard and go 1/4 mile to entrance on right.
  • From Roanoke College (Peery Drive entrance) - Make a right onto Thompson Memorial Drive. Then in 0.3 miles make a left turn at the first traffic light onto East Main Street. In 0.3 miles, make a right on Lynchburg Turnpike. Continue on Lynchburg Turnpike for 0.8 miles. Then make a right at the junction onto Texas Street and in 0.3 miles make a left onto Taliaferro Way to enter the stadium parking lot. 


Field Access
Access to the football field and sidelines is limited to authorized personnel at all times. Fans are asked to enjoy the event from the stands.

Maroon Walk
The Maroon Walk will start two hours before kickoff starting at the Red Sox Stadium. 

Parking
Stadium parking is free and opens at 8 a.m. The facility offers 4,000 parking spaces for fans. For a map of parking options, including handicap accessible spaces, click here

Prohibited Items
The following items are prohibited in Salem Stadium during games:

  • Alcohol
  • Backpacks, purses, non-clear clutch bags
  • Coolers, briefcases, fanny packs, cinch bags, camera bags
  • Fireworks or explosives
  • Glass containers
  • Illegal drugs
  • Laser pointers
  • Outside food or drink
  • Pets (except ADA service animals)
  • Smoking or vaping (allowed in grass near Salem Red Sox stadium)
  • Umbrellas
  • Unmanned aircrafts (drones)
  • Weapons (including firearms and knives)

School Swag

No Maroons football gear? Never fear. Our campus store has your back. Visit the store online or look for its mobile storefront inside the stadium on game day. Credit cards, cash and Maroon Money will be accepted at the stadium.

Shuttle Service
Free shuttle vans to and from the stadium will be offered for Roanoke College students, faculty and staff. The pick-up/drop-off site will be in front of the Cregger Center.
 
The shuttles will start at 11 a.m. and run continuously until one hour after the game.

Tailgating

Tailgaters are welcome. Salem Stadium's parking lot will open at 8 a.m. on game days. Spaces can be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking must be contained within a marked space. Parking on grass is prohibited. Tailgating and tents are restricted to the space behind a vehicle. Please do not block the roadway or impede the flow of traffic.
