Roanoke drops neutral-site matchup to Rhodes

Sewanee, Tenn. - The Roanoke College field hockey team was defeated by Rhodes in the first of two games this weekend, hosted by Sewanee.

How It Happened  

  • Scoreless first half that required only one save by either goalie. 

  • Rhodes broke the tie in the final two minutes of the third with a goal by Maria Zaporozhsi assisted by Bella Spina. 

Notes and Notables  

  • Chloe Miller made seven saves in the game, six of them coming in the second half.  

  • The Lynx outshot the Maroons 23 to 8.  

  • Zaporozhsi's goal was the first of the season.  

Up Next  
Roanoke plays again tomorrow (Sept. 6) at Sewanee to close out the weekend. The game is set to start at 11 a.m.
