Linwood Johnson was nearly perfect statistically Saturday as the Roanoke College football team breezed to a 52-0 win at Gallaudet University Saturday in non-conference play.
Johnson only saw action in the first half, but connected on 19-of-20 passes for 275 yards and four touchdowns and ran in another score. His 95 percent completion percentage is third-best in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) history with at least 15 pass attempts.
The Roanoke defense recorded a shutout, holding the Bison to -5 rushing yards on 25 carries, and have allowed just seven points in three games thus far.
How it happened:
*Johnson tossed three first-quarter touchdown passes, hitting
KJ Bratton,
Khamari Garner and
Cole Chizuk. The passes to Garner and Chizuk were for 89 and 42 yards, respectively.
*Johnson found a fourth receiver for a score early in the second period, connecting with
Ethan Graves for a 20-yard TD. Johnson took it into the end zone himself for a one-yard rushing score to make the game 35-0 right before halftime.
*Bratton took the second half kickoff 66 yards to the end zone to push the score to 42-0.

Trell Creasy found the end zone after a two-yard run midway through the third quarter.

Ethan Cyr nailed a 46-yard field goal with 7:40 left, the longest made field goal in program history since the program was restarted in 2024.
