RC shuts out Randolph to earn ODAC win

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Roanoke College women's lacrosse squad shutout the Randolph WildCats 25-0 to earn their fourth ODAC victory of the season.

How It Happened 

  • The Maroons went up 10-0 after the first quarter and stayed in control from there to earn their fourth ODAC win. 

Notes and Notables 

  • The last time Roanoke scored 25 goals was when they shutout Randolph in 2022. 

  • The Maroons didn't allow a shot to their opponent. The last time they did that was against Hollins in a 24-0 win in 2012. 

  • 19 different Maroons scored in the contest. 

  • Sarah Brisson led in points with a goal and a career high eight assists. Her eight helpers ties for fourth in the program record books for single game assists.

  • Zoe Blair posted five points on two goals and a trio of helpers. 
     
  • Maddie McDonald scored a hat trick and added an assist for four points. Katie Fasanaro did the reverse, tallying four points on a goal and three assists.
  • Kelley Hurdle tallied her first career goal in the fourth quarter. 

  • Jordan Wheeler led in draw controls with eight while McDonald was right behind with six. Elyse Cosgrave also picke dup a career high five draw controls.

  • Wheeler and McDonald topped the squad in caused turnovers with four.
     
  • Liza Fergusson led in ground balls with four while Maeve Byrne followed that up with three.
  • Kendall Todd and Maddi Barnhorst split time in between the pipes but neither had to make a save. 

Up Next 
RC will now look to get set for a pair of games this weekend. They head to Bridgewater for  ODAC action on Saturday (Apr. 18) before hosting Sewanee on Sunday (Apr. 19) in their last non-conference game of the season. Both games are slated to begin at 12:00 pm.
