SALEM, Va. - Senior Maddie McDonald accounted for half of RC's goals as the Roanoke College women's lacrosse squad downed Lynchburg 14-9 to earn their first ODAC win of the campaign.

How It Happened 

• The Maroons got out to a quick start, scoring four goals in the first five minutes. They went one to finish the quarter up 7-1. 

• Lynchburg cut their deficit in the second as they outscored RC 3-1, making it 8-4 going into the half. 

• Roanoke then scored three unanswered in the third to stretch their lead yet again putting them at 11-4 going into the final 15 minutes. 

• Lynchburg tried to make a push to get back into the game in the fourth, scoring three to open the quarter. The Maroons matched them for the rest of the period, however, to secure their first ODAC win. 

Notes and Notables 

• Maddie McDonald tied her career high for the third time this season as she posted seven goals. She set her career high last season against Lynchburg. 

• Zoe Blair followed McDonald's performance up with a five-point game of her own. She tallied a pair of goals and dished out three assists. 

• Addison Widmer, Sarah Brisson, and Sydney Winpigler also had multi-point games with two each. Widmer and Winpiggler each had a goal and an assist while Brisson had two helpers. 

• Liza Fergusson and Ryan Tinervin scored the other two goals for RC. 

• Reese Ormiston scooped up a career high four ground balls. 

• Kaitlyn Robertson also set a new career mark as she caused four turnovers. Lili Riley was right behind her with three CTOs. 

• Regan Tharaldson led the squad in draw controls with five while McDonald had three. 

• Kendall Todd racked up nine saves between the pipes for Roanoke.
