SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College men's volleyball picked up their sixth sweep of the season, and third in ODAC matchups, as they took down Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday.

How It Happened 

• Virginia Wesleyan looked like they were going to pull away early, going up 10-5 in the first set. RC settled in though and didn't let the Marlins score consecutive points for the rest of the set to end up taking it 25-21. 

• The sides exchanged blows in the second set, but Roanoke found the upper hand mid-way through the set. Just when VWU looked like they might regain the lead late, the Maroons found points to finish it at 25-22. 

• RC didn't let Virginia Wesleyan string together more than two points at a time in the third as they found multiple runs of three to four points to earn themselves a 25-16 set victory and the match win. 

Notes and Notables 

• Senior Michael Cummins topped the squad in kills with 11. Pierce Faulcon was the next closest Maroon at eight kills, and Jackson Rutkowski and Colin Mendoza were right behind him with seven. 

• Leo Houser picked up a majority of the setting duties on the night, racking up 21 assists in the process. 

• Mendoza and Cade Kinne led in blocks with four and three respectively. 

• CJ Kingston picked up 13 digs in the contest. He was followed up by Houser who posted nine.
