FOREST, Va. - Junior Max Cardwell and senior Lindsey Hobin of the Roanoke College track & field team both earned ODAC Track Athlete of the Week after outstanding performances in the 400m at Camel City.
Cardwell established a new personal-best time in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.80. His time is the second-fastest in Roanoke program history. Cardwell placed eighth overall and first among Division III competitors at Camel City. He currently ranks third in the South Region and 35th in the country. For ODAC rankings, Cardwell's time converts to 0:49.58 (due to track size/banking), which slots him third in the conference.
Hobin picked up her second straight ODAC indoor track award after placing 15th overall and first among Division III competitors with a new personal-best time of 0:57.65 in the 400m. Her time is the second-fastest in Roanoke program history and currently ranks third in the South Region and 34th in the country. For ODAC rankings, Hobin's time converts to 0:58.42 (due to track size/banking), which strengthens her hold on No. 1 in the conference.
Cardwell, Hobin, and the rest of the Roanoke squad are back at the Cregger Center this Saturday (Feb. 14) for the Joe LaRocco Invite.
