This past weekend, a small squad traveled to Baltimore, Maryland, to compete at the Charm City Cross Race.  It was a successful weekend, and the first weekend of racing with wet conditions. Saturday started off with Aidan Goldberg's race, where he had to navigate a course that was damp from the rain the night before. Goldberg raced well and finished 17th in a field of almost 60 racers. This was one of his best results to date in a highly contested field.

As the day went on, it dried up quite a bit for Lauren Weigel's race, and then the Elite Men took the start later in the afternoon. The course was still very physical with steep run-ups, 3 big fly-overs, and a lot of punchy climbs. Lauren finished 16th in a big field with some very fast women. The last race of the day was super fast, with some big names showing up to race. Gus Lynott finished 30th, with Geert Fischer coming in just behind him for 31st. William Dodds suffered some mechanical issues early in the race and was unable to finish.

The heavens opened up on Day 2 with constant light rain all day. In the slick morning conditions, Aidan had a great result, finishing 8th and besting his result from the day before by more than half! As the day went on, conditions continued to get worse and worse. Lots of discussions took place about what tires to run as the mud started to get more slippery. Geert rode a great race, showing off his mud skills, making the lead lap in 26th place. Will rode well despite some tire setup issues shortly before the race. Gus, who came to Charm a little under-prepared for the super slippery conditions, was able to gain a lot of valuable experience with this fast field and finished in a respectable 34th place.

Next up, the team is in Grand Junction, Colorado, for the Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships.
