The Short story: The No. 6 ranked Roanoke College wrestling team withstood a tough challenge from No. 11 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Sunday, ultimately taking the non-conference dual 26-15.

*The Blugolds scored a pin in the first match of the day at 285 pounds.

Mac Cafurello responded with a technical fall win 19-4 at 125, followed by a
Jude Robson 8-4 victory at 133.

Mark Samuel needed just 2:46 to win 18-1 by technical fall at 141 and
Taylor Smith had a major decision victory at 149.

Casey Smith secured a 4-1 win at 157 to put the Maroons ahead 20-6, but the visitors recorded decision victories at 165, 174 and 184 to cut the lead to 20-15 entering the final match.

Lorenzo Pellot-Vázquez ended the match in decisive fashion, pinning his foe in 5:50 at 197 pounds.
