The short story: The Roanoke College wrestling team had three individual champions Friday and Saturday to win the team title at the 2026 Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational. The Invitational is the oldest and largest small-college wrestling tournament in the country, dating back to the original Wheaton Invitational in 1938.

Mac Cafurello won the title at 125 pounds, in the process recording his 100
th career win – the first student-athlete to do so in program history. He won all five of his matches over the weekend en route to the title.

Jude Robson earned five victories on his way to the 133 pound title, one by pin and one by technical fall.

Lorenzo Pellot-Vazquez secured five wins, two by pin and one by technical fall to take the 197-pound championship.
How it happened:
*Roanoke had 154 team points, besting the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with 148.5 points. The Maroons had eight place winners.

Taylor Smith made it to the finals at 149, scoring three victories.

Casey Smith took third at 157, winning five matches over the weekend.

Nicholas Cook also won five matches en route to a fifth-place finish at 285.

Cade Parent placed sixth at 165 and had three technical falls and one pin.

Hunter Moore earned a seven-place finish at 184.
