The Short story: The Roanoke College wrestling team took third and had 12 place-winners Saturday at the 2026 Jim Crytzer Invitational, hosted by Washington & Lee University.

Freshman Jackson Rowling won his 149-pound weight class, winning all four of his matches, one by pin and two by technical fall.    

Maroon Place-winners:  
*Ryan Saunders placed sixth at 125.
*Michael Policarpio placed third at 133, while teammate Caleb Haney was fourth.
*Jake Yowell was second at 141 and Noah Cuic came in fourth.
*Aiden Sanders placed fifth at 157 pounds and Taven Williams took third at 165 with two pins.
*Joe Zereini placed second, Andrew Kehoe took third and Topher Tryon placed sixth at 174.
*Cam Cavins placed third at 285.
