The Short story: Senior guard Marcus Morgan scored 11 points Wednesday evening to push past the 1,000-career point milestone and help the Roanoke College men's basketball team secure an 86-74 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win at Randolph College.

Morgan is the 44^th player in Roanoke College men's basketball history to reach 1,000 points. He entered the game with 994 and scored four in the first half. Morgan needed just 52 seconds in the second half to reach the mark on a layup and now has 1,0005 for his career.

Roanoke, ranked No. 17 in this week's D3hoops.com top 25, earned its fifth-straight win.

How it happened:  
*The Maroons got out of the gate quickly and opened a 19-4 lead in the game's first eight minutes.
*Roanoke led 43-30 at halftime and had a 19-point advantage in the second half.  

Inside the numbers:
*Caleb Franze scored a team-high 17 points with four steals.
*Tyler Barnes came off the bench for 14 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
*Jackson Bell posted 12 points and seven rebounds.
*Gavin O'Malley had 11 points and seven rebounds and Porter Stanley added seven points.
*Ryan Truitt finished with six points, six rebounds and two steals and Zach Rosenthal also scored six.
*Aveion Tucker scored a game-high 21 points for Randolph (4-14/0-9 ODAC).

Up Next:
*The Maroons (14-4/7-2 ODAC) host Averett University Friday at 6 p.m. in another ODAC game. The contest was originally scheduled for Saturday but moved up due to the threat of inclement weather.
