FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released the final standings for the annual Commissioner's Cup Friday morning, with Roanoke College finishing fourth overall in the Dan Wooldridge Overall Champions Cup Standings, including both men's and women's sports.
RC earned 178 points overall out of a possible 268 to record a rating of .664 to place fourth out of 12 schools. The Maroons took third in the men's standings (95 points/.720 rating) and seventh in the women's rankings (83 points/.610 rating).
As determined by the ODAC Board of Directors, points for the ODAC Commissioner's Cups are based on regular-season standings in team sports and championship team finishes in individual/meet sports. Each institution has a total number of possible points it can collect based on its sport sponsorship. The total number of points earned is then divided by the total number of possible points to determine the rating for each institution.
The Maroon wrestling team earned the maximum points possible (eight) after winning the ODAC title this winter. The men's swimming team took second place outright and the men's basketball and men's volleyball teams tied for second place. Men's Cross country, men's lacrosse and men's outdoor track and field each took third place.
Roanoke's lacrosse team earned second-place points in the women's half, with swimming finishing third and indoor and outdoor track and field taking fourth.
