LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Roanoke College men's lacrosse team had four players honored Thursday with the release of the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American Teams.
Julian Kammerman earned a spot on the second team while
Luke Kammerman,
Wyatt Whitlow and
Weston Hammond received honorable mentions. These four honorees bring retiring head coach Bill Pilat's total to 118 All-Americans in his 37 seasons at the helm of the Roanoke College program.
Julian Kammerman has had an offseason rich in awards. He was named a third-team Inside Lacrosse All-American last week and was a first-team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) selection. The junior midfielder had 34 goals and 22 assists for 56 points and scooped 30 ground balls. He had six hat tricks on the year, including a six-goal game against nationally-ranked Lynchburg on April 5.
Luke Kammerman, a fifth-year attack, also earned an honorable mention to the Inside Lacrosse All-American team and was first-team All-ODAC. He ended his Roanoke career with 202 career goals, 210 assists and 412 points.
Luke Kammerman is the ODAC all-time leader in career assists and is sixth in NCAA D3 history (and 10th in points). For the year he posted 44 goals and led the team with 33 assists and 77 points.
Whitlow, also a first-team All-ODAC honoree, tied the school record with 249 career goals after netting a team-high 51 this year. The fifth-year attack added 23 assists for 74 points and has been named to the all-conference team in each of the last four seasons.
Hammond, a junior defender, landed a spot on the All-ODAC First Team for the third-straight season. He corralled a team best 81 ground balls, caused 28 turnovers and also won 10
faceoffs.
The Maroons finished the season 13-6 and 8-2 in conference action.
