LEXINGTON, Va. - The Roanoke College baseball team snagged a pair of road victories against Washington & Lee in conference play, taking game one in ten innings, 7-5, and game two, 6-2.

RC got the scoring going in the second and fourth innings before WLU evened it up at 2-2. The Generals then went up 5-3 going into the ninth but RC evened it up by the time the top of the inning was over. Trevor Orth entered the game and got it done on the mound, allowing the Maroons to add two more in the tenth and go on to win the game.

W&L scored first in the bottom of the second, to which the Maroons responded with a tally of their own in the third before adding two more in the fourth. The Generals brought the game to within one in the bottom of the fourth, but Roanoke added a run in each of the final three innings to take the sweep.

RC needed just two pitchers in game two. Mason Roy got his first start of the year and went four innings, surrendering just two runs and striking out two. Jackson Murphy then came in to finish off the game and grab the winning decision. Murphy allowed just six baserunners in five innings while striking out four.
