The Lead: The Maroons turned in three second-place showings and 10 total Top 5 performances as the outdoor season got underway at Washington and Lee.
Meet Highlights:
- Allie Gallaher led a strong contingent in the 3,000m, coming in as the runner-up with a time of 11:49.02. Four other Maroons finished in consecutive order: Sarah Kochanski (11:55.84) came in third, with Alaina DeFelice (12:12.57) in fourth, Lauren Murray (12:19.37) in fifth and Madeleine Rhyne (12:40.63) in sixth.
- Ophelia Ladner set a personal record in the 400m hurdles, placing second in 1:04.61. McKenna Riolo landed in sixth at 1:14.17.
- Maryrose Molina-Shuman came in second in the 400m, clocking in at 1:00.15.
- Three Maroons finished in the Top 10 of the 100m hurdles. Olivia Viers placed third in 15.42 seconds, followed by Cammi Winston (15.94) in sixth and Riolo (17.76) in 10th.
- Tasha Miller came in fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.02m.
- Claudia Disbrow logged a throw of 34.70m to finish fourth in the discus.
- Gallaher also produced a personal record in the 1,500m, notching a time of 5:11.65 to place fifth in the unseeded race.
- Sarah Fuchs finished seventh in the shot put with a distance of 10.54m.
- Disbrow came in seventh in the javelin at 31.86m.
- Molina-Shuman's time of 13.25 seconds was good for eighth place in the 100m. Ladner finished 10th in 13.27 seconds.
- Winston landed at 10.12m in the triple jump, finishing ninth overall.
Up Next: Roanoke will take part in both Lynchburg's Hornet Open and NC State's Raleigh Relays next weekend.
