WINCHESTER, Va. - The Roanoke College women's basketball team put in a strong fight but ultimately fell in ODAC Quarterfinals to Shenandoah on Tuesday.

How It Happened 

• The Maroons came out firing in the first shooting 50% in the quarter to take a 23-18 lead into the second. 

• More heavy swings offensively came in the second quarter as both teams tallied a 20+ point period. Roanoke went into the half with a 43-38 advantage. 

• Both sides continued to push in the third as both teams had over 50% in field goal percentage, with RC shooting 44.4% form three. Roanoke held their lead though, taking a narrow 61-60 advantage into the final ten minutes. 

• The Maroons struggled to find the net in the last period and Shenandoah took their opening to bring the score to final. 
   

Notes and Notables 

• Paige Breuer and Peyton Kirchner led the charge offensively, tallying 17 and 16 points respectively. 

• Kirchner's 16 points is a new career high for the senior. She also notably shot 50% from three in the game, going 4-8. 

• Ashley Fowler also hit double digits, recording 11 in the contest. 

• Nadia Snesarev was right behind fowler with nine points, all of which came from behind the arc. 

• Breuer and Snesarev did not come off the court, as both freshmen put in a full 40 minutes of work. 

• Kirchner also topped the squad in rebounds with seven. Mariah Cain followed her up with six. 

• Breuer recorded a new career high in assists with her six helpers on the night.
