Hunter Moore won the individual title at 197 pounds and the Roanoke College wrestling team had 12 place-winners Friday at the 92
nd annual Wilkes University Open.
The Wilkes Open features wrestlers from Division I, II, and III teams as well as others from club teams and unattached wrestlers.
How it happened:
*Moore won all four of his matches Friday and bested teammate
Lorenzo Pellot-Vázquez 4-1 in the finals. Moore had one victory by pin and one by technical fall.

Taylor Smith joined
Pellot-Vázquez with a second-place finish at 149.

Jackson Rowling (149) and
Vincenzo Corvetto (184) took third.

Nicholas Cook (285),
Andrew Kehoe (174),
Topher Tryon (165) and
Bailey Wilman (157) each finished fourth.
*
Casey Smith (157) and
Cade Parent (165) tied for fifth at 157 and 165, respectively and
Cam Cavins was sixth at 285.
