Danville, Va. -- The Roanoke College wrestling team had 19 placers (top six), including three winners, Sunday at the Averett University Cougar Classic. The Maroons competing unattached for 'Noke RTC'.  

Maroon Placewinners:
*Cade Parent (165), Jonah Paulino (149) and Samuel Aponte (125) won their weight classes.
*The Maroons had five second-place finishers; Brock Sullivan at 184, Elijah Smoot at 141, Joe Zereini at 174, Nicholas Cook at 285 and Troy Shannon at 165.   
*Alexander Quintano (165), Andrew Kehoe (174), Caleb Haney (133), Cam Cavins (285), Jackson Rowling (149) and Jake Yowell (141) each took third.
*Noah Cuic at 141 placed fourth.
*Dantrell Benson (184), Max Hibsman (149) and Topher Tryon (157) each placed fifth and Braden Henderson (141) was sixth.

Roanoke hosts Southern Virginia University Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Maroons first home and Old Dominion Athletic Conference match of the season.
