The Short Story: The Roanoke College men's and women's swim teams competed Friday through Sunday at the VMI Keydet Invite, held at the VMI Aquatic Center. The Maroons had four first-place finishes and one school record fell.

Top finishes (women):
*Halle Schart won the 100 and 200 back in 56.54 and 2:04.64, respectfully. Schart clocked an NCAA 'B' cut time in the 100 back and was third in the 50 free in 24.44.
*Kate Pearson swam a 2:10.04 to finish second in the 200 IM and was third in the 100 breast in 1:07.77 - setting the school record in the process.
*Carter Satterfield won the 500 free in 5:07.28 and was fourth in the 1650 free in 17:56.
*The team of Satterfield, Quinn Haley, Bella Adams and Claire Ballard took sixth in the 200 free relay in 1:43.24.
*The 400 medley relay team of Julianna Morrow, Pearson, Schart and Ballard swam a 4:00.05 to finish third.
*Roanoke's 200 medley team of Morrow, Pearson, Schart and Ballard took second in 1:48.20. The four swam the 400 free relay in 3:37.32 to take third.3
*Haley touched the wall in 1:01.02 in the 100 fly to place sixth and was 13^th in the 200 free in 2:05.20.
*Morrow swam a second-best time of 58.12 in the 100 back.
*Morrow, Satterfield, Pearson and Schart won the 800 free relay in 7:55.90.


Top finishes (men):
*Dyllan Hartman, Regan Euker, Ryan Franceys and Tyler Hill teamed up to take fifth in the 200 free relay in 1:25.78. 
*Peyton Meyer placed second in the 500 free in 4:38.01 and third in the 400 IM in 4:09.81. He also took second in the 1650 free in 16:12.
*Jack White completed the 200 IM in 1:57.71 to take 11^th and was seventh in the 100 back in 52.51. He also was fifth in the 200 back in 1:54.29.
*Hill placed 13^th in the 50 free in 21.46.
*The tandem of White, Morgan Taylor, Hill and Hartman placed fourth in the 200 medley relay in 1:34.53.
*Hill was fifth in the 100 fly in 49.76.
*Franceys finished the fifth in the 200 free in 1:42.81.
*Taylor garnered ninth place in the 100 breast in 58.43.
*Meyer, Cade Needham, Kellen Drawbaugh and Franceys combined to take third in the 800 free relay in 7:06.22.
*Franceys, Hartman, Meyer and Hill were fifth in the 400 free relay in 3:09.55.

Roanoke concludes the fall semester portion of its schedule, and will host Bridgewater College Saturday, Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. in the Salem YMCA.
