The Short Story: The Roanoke College men's and women's swim teams opened the 2025-26 season Saturday at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Relays, hosted by Washington & Lee University.
The event featured relays that teams do not compete in the rest of the season, including several with just three swimmers for each team. Washington and Lee won the men's and women's ODAC Relays.
Top finishes (women):
*Roanoke's 500-yard relay (50-100-150-200) team of
Claire Ballard,
Kate Pearson,
Julianna Morrow and
Halle Schart won the event in 4:51.66.
*Morrow, Pearson, Ballard and Schart teamed up to take second in the 400 free relay in 3:42.96.
*The same foursome swam a 1:53.13 in the 200 medley relay to place fourth, and also finished fourth in the 100 relay in 56.84 and the 200 free relay in 1:42.93.

Quinn Haley placed 11
th in the 100 relay in 54.41.

*The 500 relay team of
Regan Euker, Hartman, Meyer and Franceys placed second in 4:17.50.
*Franceys, Euker, Hill and Hartman took third in the 100 relay in 39.78 and fourth in the 200 free in 1:26.88.
*The Maroon team of
Jack White,
Morgan Taylor, Hill and Hartman placed fourth in the 200 medley in 1:37.43.
*White, Hartsell and Hill finished in 1:12.18 to take fifth and Hartsell, Taylor and Meyer also placed fifth in the 3x50 relay in 1:23.66.

The Maroons host a home meet Friday Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at the Salem YMCA with the men facing Hampden-Sydney College and the women competing with Sweet Briar College.
