SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College men's soccer team pushed hard in the second half on both sides of the ball but were unable to find a way to take points away from Lynchburg on Wednesday.

How It Happened 

• Lynchburg went up 1-0 in the 29th minute after volleying a ball that was bouncing around the box into the lower right corner. 

• Roanoke laid on the pressure in the second half, creating multiple dangerous looks, while the defense and Aidan McHugh made a handful of spectacular saves. However, the Maroons couldn't quite find the equalizer to take a point away from the match. 

Notes and Notables 

• Slate Danforth topped the squad in shots with three, two of which were on frame. 

• Justin Hill, Lucas Pace, Kyle Butcher, and Jack Garwood accounted for the rest of Roanoke's looks on goal. 

• The Roanoke defense registered two team saves in the match, a goal line clearance from both Pace and Brian Manon. 

• Goaltender Aidan McHugh made a career high seven saves in the contest, including two diving stops in the second half to keep the Maroons in the game.
