The Short story: The Roanoke College men's basketball team used a solid defensive effort to secure a 70-48 victory at Bridgewater College Saturday in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game.
The Maroons held the Eagles to under 30 percent shooting (16-54) from the field and 15 percent from three-point range (5-29).
How it happened: Â
*The Maroons scored the first six points of the game and opened a 16-4 lead at 13:35 of the first half.
*Bridgewater cut the advantage to 18-16 but RC closed out the half with a 19-6 run to take a 37-22 lead at halftime.
*Roanoke held BC scoreless for the first four minutes of the second half to push the lead to over 20 points.

Jackson Bell scored a team-best 15 points with five rebounds in a team effort that saw seven Maroons score six points or more. Â

Joshua McClary had 10 points and
Marcus Morgan,
Gavin O'Malley and
Joshua Morse each had eight points. Morse grabbed six rebounds and O'Malley snared four.

Caleb Franze had six points and three steals and
Grant Hamilton also had six points.
