RALEIGH, N.C. - The Roanoke College field hockey team put up a commanding 4-0 win over the Meredith Avenging Angels on Wednesday night.

• The Maroons scored twice in the first 12 minutes of the contest to send a lethal blow to the hopes of the Meredith Avenging Angels. 

How It Happened 

• Krista DeModna opened the scoring just two minutes into the game for her first goal of the campaign. 

• Grace Vernarelli doubled the scoreline in the 11th minute. 

• After a scoreless second period, DeModna made it a brace in the 35th minute. 

• Tess Taloumis rounded out the scoring in the 41st minute to bring it to the final 4-0. 

Notes and Notables

• DeModna's brace made Wednesday's game the first multi-goal game of her career. 

• Taloumis' goal was her first of the season and the sixth of her career. 

• Vernarelli's goal was her sixth of the season, while her assist was her second of the year.

• RC had nine players registered shots in the match; DeModna, Taloumis, Vernarelli, Elyse Cosgrave, Carsyn Poppa, Maddy Holmes, Jessie Besselaar, Lindsey Keyes, and Mary Wisher. 

• The Maroons had the advantage in shots, 21-1, and penalty corners, 9-2. 

• Goalkeeper Madison Wingerter only had to make one save in the affair.
