SALEM, Va. - The Roanoke College Competition Cheer team received a Bronze bid to the NCA (National Cheerleaders Association) College Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL. The competition will take place from April 9–13, 2025.
This is the first time Roanoke College has ever qualified for the college cheer competition. The Maroons Cheer team earned their spot after a three-day home camp at Roanoke College, where they were judged on their 45-second Rally Routine, meeting all criteria to attend the college nationals.
"I am so proud of this team," said head coach Katelyn Kaminski. "They pushed themselves so hard during our three-day home camp. They are setting a very high bar and creating an amazing legacy for this new program."
Following the camp, the Maroons will begin preparations for the NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL. The team will perform at all home football and basketball games, and Roanoke Cheer will release their competition schedule later this fall.
