HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sweet Briar jumped out to a 3-0 lead through doubles competition. Ana Patino and Alex Guilarte held off Halle Fernstrum and Bella Gustafson 8-6 at No. 1, Isabela Guilarte and Maria Caro recorded an 8-4 win over Julia Bassett and Lia Streibich at No. 2, and Lucia Bovard and Maggie Minton swept Camryn Breedlove and Sidney Wright 8-0 at No. 3.
• The Vixens cruised to the win after collecting all six singles matches in straight sets. Isabela Guilarte beat Streibich 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1, Patino slipped past Fernstrum 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2, Caro defeated Gustafson 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3, Alex Guilarte dispatched Bassett 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4, Isadora Lima knocked off Breedlove 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5, and Juli Caracciolo overcame Wright 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6.
