The Short story: The Roanoke College softball team split a non-conference doubleheader Saturday against visiting Greensboro College, dropping the first game 3-0 but rallying to win game two 8-0 in six innings.
How it happened (Game 1):
*Lauren Engel was in control in the circle from the start of game one, tossing a complete game shutout. She needed just 66 pitches and allowed just three hits and no walks with three strikeouts.
*The Pride scored one in the fourth and two in the fifth.

* The first three Maroons in the order accounted for the team's hits;

Molly Epperson.

Maggie McCray tossed two scoreless frames out of the bullpen, striking out three.
*Kelsey Craven had three hits for Greensboro.
How it happened (Game 2):
*Engel started the second game also and only allowed one run through the first four innings. She got in trouble in the fifth and the Pride went to the bullpen. The Maroons scored two in the frame and five in the sixth for a walk-off win.

Baylee Compton threw a complete-game shutout for the Maroons, allowing just four hits, three walks with five strikeouts.
