BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Roanoke College field hockey team saw their season come to an end after falling to Bridgewater in the ODAC Quarterfinals.

How It Happened 

• After a scoreless first, Bridgewater's Emily Tyler opened the scoring in the 20th minute to put the Eagles up 1-0. 

• The Maroons had an opportunity to send the game to overtime after earning a penalty corner with three seconds left on the clock but just couldn't convert the corner. 

Notes and Notables 

• Maddy Holmes, Tess Taloumis, and Grace Vernarelli all tallied shots in the contest. 

• Goalkeeper Madison Wingereter registered six saves on the night. 

• Vernarelli ends her RC career tied for fourth in career assists with 22, tied for fifth in career points with 92, and the sole holder of tenth place in goals with 10 in the program record book. 

• Wingereter also ends her career in the record books, standing at seventh in career saves with 244.
