HAMPDEN SYDNEY, Va. - The Roanoke College men's soccer team fell to Hampden-Sydney in the ODAC Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened 

• The Tigers struck first less than five minutes into regulation off a ball that was put into the box from the right side and then finished into the left side of the net. 

• After being down at the half, Roanoke broke through in the 57th minute. Ryan Pidgeon sent a long free kick into the box that took a bounce and was finished off by Girom Affolter to level the score. 

• Hampden-Sydney scored again with just 33 seconds left on a goal eerily similar to the first. HSC's Mo Wumpini took off down the right side after a foul restart and sent the ball across the box to Pierce Boerner who finished it into the lower right corner. 

Notes and Notables 

• Affolter's goal was his third of the season. 

• Pidgeon's assist was also his third of the year. 

• Affolter, Michael Ramsey, and Slate Danforth led the team in shots with two apiece. 

• RC had the lead in shots, 11-4, and corners, 2-1. 

• Goalie Luca Gustafson made on estop in his 90 minutes of play.
